QUARANTINE ON ALL DOGS IN ONEIDA COUNTY
January 20, 2010

The Oneida County Board of Legislators passed a resolution ordering that all dogs in the county are to be securely confined during the time period beginning January 14 until April 15, 2010 to prevent deer depredation.  Dogs running loose may be seized by any dog control officer, peace officer or police officer.  Under some circumstances a dog chasing a deer can be shot and dog owners can be liable to a civil penalty if their dog kills or cripples a deer.

ANNUAL VILLAGE ELECTION MARCH 16, 2010
January 15, 2010
The annual election for the Village of Barneveld will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from noon - 9:00 pm at the Village Office located in the Trenton Municipal Center, 8520 Old Poland Rd.  To be filled are two Trustee positions for two-year terms each.
OPEN BURNING OF GREEN WASTE AND OTHER RUBBISH PROHIBITED

As per NYCCR 215, the burning of leaves, branches and other rubbish is prohibited within the boundaries of the village, and will be strictly enforced.  Branches up to 6 feet in length and leaves may be dropped off at the Town of Trenton Recycling Center during normal operating hours.

VILLAGE DOG CONTROL LAW
October 22, 2009
The Village Board adopted a Dog Control Law in 1994, and amended in 2004, which prohibits dogs from running at large and from habitual barking.  For a copy of the law please see the website section "Laws" or call the Village Office.  All violations of this law should be reported to the Animal Control Officer, Robert Jones, at 732-8744 or to the Village Office at 896-4514.
NO ALL NIGHT PARKING ON VILLAGE STREETS
October 22, 2009
As per Local Law #1 of 2008, there will be no parking allowed on village streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from November 1 to April 1.  This is to facilitate the plowing and removal of snow from village streets.
VILLAGE ADOPTS PARK SMOKE FREE POLICY
October 01, 2009
At the September 8, 2009 regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees a Smoke Free Policy was adopted for Jonah Howe Park. The policy can be viewed under "Parks and Recreation" then "Jonah Howe Park."
TREASURER'S REPORT AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION

Pursuant to Section 4-408 of the Village Law, the Treasurer's Report of the Village of Barneveld for the fiscal year June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009 is on file at the office of the Village Clerk, where it is available for inspection by all interested persons.
